"This is the best cafe to find in and around St Austell, I had a cooked breakfast with egg, bacon, two sausages hash browns and beans with two slices of toast and a huge pot of Cornish tea and it came to £9.20 the ladies the run this place know how to cook tasty food. The atmosphere here is great, it's spotlessly clean, plants in little nooks and little pots of fresh carnations on each table which is a nice touch!. The bathroom was spotlessly clean too. The have a great selection of homemade cakes and pastries that looked so nice but I just couldn't fit any more food in after such a gorgeous breakfast. They even gave me a loyalty card on my way out for the next visit. I highly recommend, five stars."

"Came here for breakfast two days whilst on holiday, amazing atmosphere and the food is delicious. The cake counter is full of amazing home made cakes and sweet treats. The ladies work hard to be attentive to customers and are extremely welcoming to visitors. Even better that it’s dog friendly :)"

"I asked my wife if she would like cream tea on our regular holiday in Cornwall. I am not a regular cake eater, but I am okay with the occasional cream tea. Treacles was on our route back to the holiday cottage, so we popped in. Google lists the wrong phone number (Come on, Google, get it sorted), and we feared the café was closed. Thankfully it was open, and they allowed dogs. The two ladies could not do enough for us; they were so friendly and welcoming. I had Victoria sponge, and my wife chose the pecan and pumpkin special cake. This cake is the best we have eaten. We chatted to the ladies as if we were old friends and stayed for an hour. The coffee was good, and the prices were very reasonable. There is a car park opposite, and for 50p you can stay for an hour which isn't unreasonable. It is a small, locally run café which deserves all the business it can get; I highly recommend it. Thank you to all at Treacles."

"We have been meaning to visit for a while and finally found time today. Very friendly staff and great service. Great menu and also some daily specials too. Ham cheese and pineapple panini came with salad and coleslaw and was very nice. Roast chicken salad bap was delicious and came with salad and crisps. Generous portion sizes but still managed to choose something from the lovely selection of cakes after! I can highly recommend the biscoff rocky road. Delicious Top americano coffee (had 2 cups!) And milkshakes with all the trimmings. We cant wait for a second visit. Visited again and enjoyed the standard breakfast. Very good value."
